Isaiah 48:17-18 NLT
This is what the LORD says- your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow. Oh, that you had listened to my commands! Then you would have had peace flowing like a gentle river and righteousness rolling over you like waves in the sea.
In our own wisdom, we make plans and try to plot out our lives. We think we know what is best for our lives. But many times these plans lead to turmoil. The wisdom we think we have is really not wise at all. In fact the wisdom we have, God calls foolishness.
1 Corinthians 3:19a NLT
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God.
Proverbs 19:3 NLT
People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the LORD.
Proverbs 26:12 NKJV
Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
God Has a Better Way.
When we yield to His will and follow the plans He has for us, letting Him lead us along the path we should follow, He gives us peace that flows like a gentle river.
Wisdom is not far away from us. God tells us throughout the scriptures to seek Him and His will and He will make you wise and put you on straight paths.
Proverbs 2:3-9 NKJV
Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.
A Higher Peace
Jesus left us a peace that is better than anything the world can offer. We when are in fear or feeling troubled, Jesus tells us to do not be afraid. This life can be hard and throw at us many trials and tribulations, but He tells us that in Him we may have a better peace because He has overcome the world.
John 14:27 NKJV
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 16:33 NKJV
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Today, ask The Lord to give your heart the peace that surpasses all understanding. Follow His ways and be of good cheer, because Jesus has overcome the world!
