2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. [17] For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. [18] So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Good Morning!
Every day we face challenges that can throw us “off kilter” or just put us in a funk. But when we try to look at our lives through the lens of eternity, these little “speed bumps” along the way really don’t matter. God’s Word calls these “light and momentary troubles” because they are just that. They are here today and gone tomorrow and compared to eternity, they don’t really matter. When things get crazy and life kicks in and everything seems to be going off the rails, just think about eternity. These light and momentary troubles will soon pass. I’ve heard this analogy about eternity — If you had a rope that circled the globe, our current lives would be about 1 inch of that rope and that rope would continue to circle the globe endlessly, as that is what eternity looks like.

The things that we deem so important in this life really are not – wealth, education, getting more stuff, success, fame, etc., these things are not lasting, but when we build our treasures in heaven, those are eternal. How do we do that? Well, I’m glad you asked 😉

Our treasures in heaven are the relationships that we build here on earth. Jesus said that whoever is least on earth will be greatest in heaven. So being humble, giving, helpful, compassionate, good and faithful, are the things that please God and give us our treasures in heaven.

Matthew 19:30 NLT
But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.

God loves to bless us both now and in eternity. He blesses us every day with the breath we breathe and allows us to rise each morning. When our hearts and attitudes are right toward him, our days will be orchestrated by Him. He loves for us to keep in touch with him through prayer and reading of His word and by doing good works for others, showing His love and compassion. When we do the things He loves, our lives bear fruit. Remember that Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We can only bear fruit in this life when we stay connected to the vine.

I love you and am praying for you today!
Dad

John 15:5 NLT
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
