Psalm 23:5 KJV

[5] Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Good Morning!
We live in the land of plenty. We are so blessed to reside in a country of opportunity and freedom. Our country’s cup “runneth over” as do ours individually. Compared to most of the world, we are rich. In fact, If we have just $3200 in assets, we are among the top 50% of the world’s richest people. Interesting read here on these stats.

We are blessed! Our cups are full and overflowing. It is our responsibility to be generous with the things that God has given us. When we are generous, God rewards us with more of that entrusted to us. We cannot out-give God. He is the source of all that is created and He can continue to pour into our cups as we pour into other people’s lives. As Luke 6:38 says, He will pour so much into our cup that it will overflow into our laps. This is a promise spoken from Jesus.

Luke 6:38 NIV

[38] Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

This all happens when we have a change in heart of generosity. It is not a one and done situation, it is a lifestyle of living generously. Our wealth is not our security. Though many wealthy people think otherwise, it is merely a means of trade of our time and effort for the things we need for sustenance. It is not something that we should fret over gaining more and more of. It is not something that we should idolize. It is not something that we should even worry about. God knows our needs more that we do and will supply all that we need according to His will for our lives.

Luke 12:29-31 NKJV

[29] “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. [30] For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. [31] But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.

When we begin to feel anxious, it is time to take a step back and pray for God’s guidance for our lives. God is our security, not man’s money. God is our supplier of all things and our security. He alone is our portion. As we begin go understand this and truly let this be our way of life, God will bless us and our cups will “runneth over.”

Psalm 16:5 NIV

[5] Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.

God wants us to share in our generosity and be cheerful givers so that His purpose shall be fulfilled. It is through our obedience, that He continues to bless our lives abundantly. In Malachi 3:10 God even tells us to test Him in this and see that he will not pour out so much blessings that we won’t room enough to store it all.

Malachi 3:10b NIV

Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

I love you and am praying for you today! Remember that God loves a Cheerful Giver!

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 NKJV

[6] But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. [7] So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
