Revelation 20:15 NLT
[15] And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Good Morning!
I recently just finished reading the One Year Bible. It took me about a year and a half to do it as I went at a slower pace trying not to miss all that God’s Word has for us. It is something I’ve always wanted to do, but never took the initiative. Check. ☑️

That said, what is fresh in my mind is, although much of the Bible and many sermons you hear talk about God’s love, mercy, grace, longsuffering, and patience for His people, there will come a day when there is judgement and I would be amiss if I didn’t discuss His wrath.

God is patient and He stands at the door knocking for us to let Him in. He invites us to come into His home and dine with Him at His table. He is longsuffering, not willing that anyone should perish. But there will come a day as Revelations 19:15 describes — God shows His wrath and judgement for all those that have rejected Him. Jesus will return one day like a flash of lightning. There is no promise of tomorrow for any of us. Could tomorrow be the day? Could it be the last day we take breath and slip into eternity? We cannot gamble our eternity with procrastination! Therefore we need to open the door to our hearts and let Jesus in today — right now!

Revelation 19:15 NLT
[15] From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress.

Revelation 3:20 NKJV
[20] Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
[9] The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Matthew 24:27 NKJV
[27] For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

How Do We Get Fire Insurance?

You’ve heard a lot of people that call themselves Christians have “Fire Insurance.” They may walk the walk, go to church, be morally good, but it takes more than that. The only true fire insurance is getting our name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. God desires our hearts with a healthy fear (reference) for Him, relying on Him as our Creator, our Savior, and author and finisher of our faith.

Hebrews 12:2 NKJV
[2] looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The first step is to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. The second step is just simply living as a new creation. He seeks men and women after His own heart, letting old things in our life pass away and letting all things become new.

In doing this, our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and can never be erased.

John 14:6 NKJV
[6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
[17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Psalm 111:10 NKJV
[10] The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
[5] Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

“At God’s final judgment, the books will be opened. The Book of Life contains the names of those who have put their trust in Jesus Christ to save them. These books also contain the recorded deeds of everyone, good and evil. Everyone’s life will be reviewed and evaluated. No one is saved by good deeds, but deeds are seen as clear evidence of a person’s actual relationship with God. Jesus will look at how we have handled gifts, opportunities, and responsibilities. God’s gracious gift of salvation does not free us from the requirement of faithful obedience and service. Each of us must serve Christ in the best way we know and live each day knowing the books will one day be opened.

John’s vision does not permit any gray areas in God’s judgment. If by faith we have not identified with Christ, confessing him as Lord, we will have no hope, no second chance, no other appeal.”

Revelation 20:15 NKJV
[15] And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Our Inheritance

God promises us that when we become His sons and daughters, we be co-heirs with Christ and inherit all things throughout eternity. For those that do not, will not have their names in the Lamb’s book of life and will be tossed into the lake of fire, which is the second death. We will inherit in eternity what we decide now, everlasting life or the second death. This is not a story or fable — this is God’s plan. He, again, is patient and willing to stand at the door and knock. It is up to us to let Him in.

Jesus tells us that his yoke is easy and burden is light. This is not a hard decision. It is simply praying a prayer of salvation and meaning it in your heart. TODAY, make the change that you have been putting off. No one is secure in their eternity without Christ. No one is sure of what will happen tomorrow. Do not delay!

Revelation 21:7-8 NKJV
[7] He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. [8] But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV
[28] Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Revelation 21:27 NKJV
[27] But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Prayer of Salvation:

Dear God,
I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen. [Source]

Trust in Jesus today and secure your citizenship as His son or daughter in His new creation throughout eternity.

Revelation 21:5 NKJV
[5] Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

I love you and am praying for you today!
