The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
Good morning!
What does it mean to have the Spirit of Christ? I think he simple answer is to ask yourself, “What Would Jesus Do?” (WWJD). You’ve seen it on t-shirts, bracelets, billboards, etc. It is a simple saying, yet powerful.
When we live with the Spirit of Christ, we measure all of our actions to those of Christ. Yes, none of us can ever live up to the standard that Jesus lived, but the more we strive to be like Him, the more we live humbly and in awe of to Jesus, the more God blesses us for our obedience. Notice I didn’t say, the more God loves us because God loves all of us unconditionally. When we position our hearts and minds to line up with His Spirit and His Will, then He will bless us. That doesn’t necessarily mean material or monetary blessings. It is a blessing just to be in alignment with His Spirit because it is then that He will use us for His kingdom.
God creates opportunities for you to share His love with others, putting people in your life that you are meant to share with. He gives you more so that you will be able to bless others. God tells us that if we humble ourselves before Him, then He will lift us up.
Matthew 23:12 NIrV
People who lift themselves up will be made humble. And people who make themselves humble will be lifted up.
Our goal in this life should be to pay it forward, meaning we can’t take any of our material possessions with us to the afterlife. But we can certainly build up our treasures in heaven for the next life. The more we pay it forward, the more God will bless us. It is a continuous cycle of love that He has for us as we are obedient to His Spirit!
Romans 8:9 NKJV
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
So remember today and every day, WWJD?
