Ephesians 6:14 NLT
Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.

Good Morning!
If you missed yesterday’s devotion, go back and read that one first. Today we’ll look a little closer at the Belt of Truth.

Back in ancient times, when soldiers fought, they wore robes that were loose around their bodies. Their belt is what (1) held their tunic together so it didn’t fall off of them and (2) held their weapons (swords or daggers). Their belt was wrapped around them and held them together as God’s Word is the Truth that holds our lives together. Truth does not have many meanings. If something is not true, then it is false. So what then shall we follow, true or false doctrines? As Christ followers, we choose truth. We have confidence in this truth because of the many, many, many prophesies that were given thousands of years before Jesus was born, all came true. There was not one “tittle” was not fulfilled.

We need to face each day with God’s Truth embraced around our lives. As we speak, walk, work, play, and do all of the other things of life, God’s Truth should emulate from us so that those around us see the testimony of our lives. If we believe what we say we believe, than we should want others around us to live in truth as well. God does not want anyone to perish, but all to have everlasting life.

There is only one Truth that is sovereign and God teaches us that Truth through His Word. If we do not study His Word and let it envelop our lives, then we cannot live in Truth. Hosea 4:6 tells us that “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Let’s not let the world’s fake truth destroy us, but let us all study God’s word and obtain the knowledge that saves and delivers us. Jesus told us that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him.

Truth – it is what delivers us, it is what we live for, it is what everyone wants and seeks for their lives. So many people die from lack of knowledge when all along they just have to open their Bibles to read the Real Truth!

I love you and am praying for you today!
