2 Timothy 4:1-4 NLT
[1] I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: [2] Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. [3] For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. [4] They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

Good Morning!
In this world, man has created for himself many myths, religions, fables and tales. Men are creative and try to tell the story of how we all got here through false doctrines. It could be that science is their religion, trying to explain that we came from an explosion of gases and evolved over billions of years. It takes a lot of faith to believe that cosmic dust exploded and out of that came life evolving from microorganisms into what we have today. They really are never able to explain where life comes from in the theory of evolution, do they?

Then there are false religions that worship idols, false gods and even animals. I know our Heavenly Father must be so grieved when men just really miss the mark and decides to worship created things rather than the Creator.

We have choices to make in this life. We can choose to believe these false doctrines that are taught to people with “itchy ears” because they want to follow their own desires. There is always someone willing to tell them what they want to hear. On the other hand, we can believe the truth. Jesus told us that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He not only told us, but proved it by fulfilling all of the prophesies of the Old Testament.

John 14:6 NLT
[6] Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Luke 24:25-27 NLT
[25] Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. [26] Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?” [27] Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

Over the last 2000 years, many men have died defending the faith of Christianity. Many of whom saw Jesus face-to-face and even watched Him ascend into heaven. There were hundreds of people that saw Jesus after the resurrection. From those people that sacrificed and fought for the truth, we have our Christian faith that has spread across the globe and this many years later still is ever growing stronger.

Luke 24:50-53 NLT
[50] Then Jesus led them to Bethany, and lifting his hands to heaven, he blessed them. [51] While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up to heaven. [52] So they worshiped him and then returned to Jerusalem filled with great joy. [53] And they spent all of their time in the Temple, praising God.

2 Peter 1:16-21 NKJV
[16] For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. [17] For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” [18] And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. [19] And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; [20] knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, [21] for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

It is not for us to decide what the truth is as there can only be one truth. We must decide to believe in the truth and not the fables of man. We are here for a reason. God has a purpose for all of us. He loves us and wants us to fulfill our mission in this world – to love the Lord our God and to love one another as Christ loves the church and to go and bear fruit.

John 15:16-17 NKJV
[16] You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. [17] These things I command you, that you love one another.

The truth of the Gospel is simple and easy to understand. Although there are many mysteries that we do not understand in this world, it is the Gospel Truth that keeps us on the straight and narrow path. Don’t be easily fooled by fables. Don’t get itchy ears to want to hear falsities. God’s truth will always remain as He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8-9a NKJV
[8] Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. [9] Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines.

I love you and am praying for you today!
Dad

PS – sometimes we have to get our hands a little dirty to bear fruit
